FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - CLASSES

While we operate under different cities' community centers which has their own minimum age requirements, however our dancers range from 3 years old to seniors.  Must be potty trained to participate. 

We are a ballet folklorico group specializing in traditional Mexican dances as well as Spanish dances and dances from other Latin & International countries. 

FEMALES

• Leotard
• Hair pulled back in a pony tail or bun away from the eyes.
• Hard sole* folklorico shoes (can be purchased directly from the instructor.)
• Ballet or Jazz Shoes* (can be purchased directly from the instructor.) NOTE: NO Satin ballet shoes.
• Short folklorico skirt with a waist band. Waistband should have a button. NO waist with ties. (can be purchased directly from the instructor.)

MALES

• Comfortable moveable clothing.
• Hair away from the eyes. (in a ponytail if hair is long.
• Ballet or Jazz Shoes* (can be purchased directly from the instructor.) NOTE: NO Satin ballet shoes.
• A pair of hard sole boots. (Folklorico botines)

Additional items (Not immediately needed.)

• Tambourine with a base.
• Pair of castanets. (Level II dancers and higher)
• Long Skirt (female dancers Level II Dancers and higher)

• If you miss a class, there is no makeup as this class is only offered once a week.
• If the instructor cancels the class for any reason, there will be a makeup class.

We offer dance classes from beginners from beginners to advance level by your dance ability (not by age). Once we see your dancer's ability, we can place them in the appropriate dance class. Please note: the Dance Instructor has the final decision of your correct placement.
